The advance cost for one workshop will be £9; two will cost £15; three will be £18, or you can book all four for £20. You will need to register in advance by completing and submitting the form found by clicking here - nobody will be allowed to attend without registering.
You may book for any or all the workshops except please note that 31 August is only open to those who are experienced bridge players or have attended at least one of the other three. Payment should accompany your registration form and must be made by cheque payable to Youth Bridge. We regret that card payments cannot be accepted.
For students under the age of 18 we will need details of a parent or guardian including an emergency contact telephone number.
On receipt of your registration form we will send you some preliminary information about the courses, about bridge and about how to reach the venue. Please look at these notes before you come and familarise yourself with any new technical terms, as this will give you a head start!
No food will be provided so you will need to bring a packed lunch, though soft drinks and water will be available. Please do not bring any alcoholic drinks and note that smoking is prohibited during these workshops, even outside the building.
The format of the courses will combine clear, illustrated and easy-to-understand talks with supervised play at up to twenty tables. A book of well-designed reference notes will guide you through the process without straining your memory! During the last 90 minutes of each workshop you’ll play a proper bridge match with prizes for the winning team.
Parents or guardians please note that in accordance with the law, all supervisors on our workshops will be CRB checked and we will make every effort to ensure participants’ safety at all times. However we cannot be held responsible for students who choose to leave the premises during the day and will not be expected to inform anyone in the case of those 18 or over.
